BACKGROUND

Mr. Canfield has over thirty-five years of experience in the combined areas of real estate, structural engineering, and construction management.  His extensive background in these areas provides a unique background for structural design and the sale of real estate.

Currently engaged in both Consulting Engineering and Real Estate, Mr. Canfield's experience  as a professional engineer provides him with an insight into the value of a property that very few other Realtors have.  Conversely, his experience in real estate provides him with excellent perspective on the cost-benefit of new and remodel construction.

Clay is an avid motorcyclist, and owns eight machines.  Three modern bikes, two off-road bikes, and three vintage motorcycles.  He has ridden over 250,000 miles without an accident, and is always focused on safety.  However life without risk would be rather boring, so his adventurous spirit takes him many places in the West and other countries.

He has also written several articles, three of which have been published in BMW Owners News.  These can be read on another website: www.sierraalpha.net

An outdoor lover, Clay has invested over 1000 hours in training his latest retriever, "Perra Salveje del Rio": AKA "Rio".  Hunting itself is secondary to working with the dog.  They are a joy to work with and observe as they do what comes naturally using the protocol they have been trained by their owner.

Mentoring todays youth is an extremely important task, and requires a considerable amount of time.  It is easy to find people who will donate money, but finding qualified people to spend time with youth is more difficult.  Clay finds it very gratifying to work with high-school age youth in sailing.  Sea Scouts is an extension of the Boy Scouts of America, and teaches youth on-water skills, safety, survival, leadership, citizenship, and nautical skills such as navigation.   All this occurs in a fail-safe environment and often involves high adventure.  The ship's name is "Constellation"  We have two boats, "Orion", and "Polaris".  The ship's website is www.everettseascouts.com.   Please visit to see the activities of the Ship.
